Kisses
AR/Web/Storefront

Partnering with Burberry’s Christopher Bailey and Angela Ahrendts, Kisses was a project within Art, Copy & Code that showed the early possibilities of augmented reality and marketing.

Created for the launch of Burberry’s new line of lipsticks, Kisses enabled users to virtually try on different shades of the product via their phone’s camera and real-time facial mapping. They were then able to send an AR kiss and note to a loved one, to a display on giant LCD displays at Burberry’s London flagship store for passerby to see, or both.

Kisses sent to the storefront could be tracked from their departure location to London in real-time, and users also had the option of following every kiss sent throughout the duration of the project, showing where the most love had come from, and when.

"Burberry Kisses began with the idea of giving technology a bit of heart and soul, and using it to unite the Burberry family across the world - by telling a story that makes the digital personal," explains Burberry chief creative officer Christopher Bailey. "We're constantly thinking about how we translate the emotion of what we create and experience in the real world into the digital space, whether that's capturing the energy and excitement of a live gig, the hum and buzz of anticipation before a runway show, or just the feeling you get when you pull on your trench coat on a rainy morning."
