In addition to collaborating with the Meta Reality Labs engineering team to create Smart Camera - video calling software that automatically keeps all call participants perfectly framed and in view - my org was tasked with figuring out ways to make video calls more enjoyable and increase call frequency and duration.

With that in mind, we created AR Story Time, an award-winning, modern take on the children’s story book experience. Created from the ground up, AR Story Time utilizes augmented reality masks, overlays, backgrounds, and audio and voice-changing effects to let families not just read a story, but become the story itself.

The platform consists of partnerships with well-known children’s book authors as well as updated classics and original stories, and contains dynamic text that means children don’t just need to be the audience for stories, but can utilize the technology to learn to read as well.
